Lower School Kicks Off Winter Concert Season
‘Tis the season for winter concerts at BB&N, and the Lower School hosted the first two concerts across the three campuses this week. Grades 3-5 were first up on Wednesday, followed by grades B-2 on Friday morning.
Led by music teacher Cheryl Freeze in their first concert at BB&N, students in the fifth grade followed an opening by the orchestra and performed beloved music for the audience, including “Remember Me” from Disney’s Coco. The third graders then performed winter-themed songs, complete with hats, gloves, and fake sneezes. Closing out the performance, the fourth-graders sang about keeping the light burning throughout the year.
On Friday music teacher Sarah Zur led students from grades B-2 in their concert, which featured a cameo from the beginners’ third-grade buddies. For the first time, students performed an all-movement piece choreographed by movement teacher Jenny Lifson to Antonio Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons Suite. Other selections included multi-lingual songs about peace and the new year.
As the first campus to complete its winter concerts, the Lower School set the perfect tone for the other two campuses to perform in the next week.
