During the RSIC conference, student delegates Aiden Holness ’27, David Dudzinski Jr ’29, Emilia Capalla-Chery ’29, Gabriel De Oliveira ’28, Gideon Coleman ’29, Liya Tilahun ’28, Marwa Benyounes ’28, and Noura Farahat ’28 traveled to Australia with their Trip Leaders Alina Balseiro & Leila Bailey-Stewart. They traveled across the world to explore Cairns & Sydney for nearly two weeks.
Students spent time at the Pre-Conference snorkeling, white water rafting, seeing crocodiles, and visiting Kuranda Village. The group transitioned to the Conference with 1,100 students from 150 schools representing 30+ countries to practice the Round Square Ideals: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. They hiked to plant trees near a local quarry, solved clues to learn about Sydney and visit parts of the city, watch Indigenous people’s performances, and reflect on their cultures in daily Baraza discussions.
With respect, curiosity, resilience, and leadership, they have built lifelong connections around the world.
