Sea Chanties Fill the Theater in Upper School Spring Play

By Hannah Garcia June 1, 2026

This year’s Upper School spring play took audiences to the sea through Treasure Island, a new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale. In a snappy 60-minute show, cast members engrossed the audience in a pirate tale, complete with sing-along sea chanties.

Using a relatively bare set and the talents of a small cast and musicians, the students on stage brought fictional places like the Benbow, the Hispaniola, and Skull Island to life using lively interactions with the audience. While students performed four times in the Lindberg-Serries Theater, that isn’t the end of this magical show’s run, as most of the cast will once again participate in the famous Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, over the summer.

Thank you to the cast, crew, musicians, Director Ross MacDonald, Costumer Louise Brown, and Stage Manager Adam Howarth for their tireless efforts to bring this pirate tale to life.
