Resilient Voices Brings Student Art to the Stage

By Hannah Garcia April 21, 2026

Resilient Voices is a student-run show created in 2022 by alumna Nejma Reza ’23 as a BIPOC student showcase of heritage and community through art. This year, upperclassmen Lauyanne Kouame ’26 and Princess Adeoye ’27 helmed the planning of this exhibition, bringing singers, poets, bassists, pianists, and even a dancer to the Lindberg-Seirres Theater.

Students sang songs from artists like Bruno Mars and Alicia Keys, and even featured a K-Pop duet. Other inspiring performances included two original poems–one by 2025-26 Poet Laureate Erin Yu’ 27, and one by Sabrine Said ’28, and a section of a bass concerto performed by Meeka Touré Ortiz ’26.

In a 2-show series dedicated to the talent of BIPOC students at BB&N, each performance was filled with heart and clear, well-sung notes for an appreciative audience. Catch some of these artists across BB&N stages and in the Upper School galleries as performing groups and classes present their hard work.
