Lower School Concerts Celebrate School Spirit and Culture
The annual spring concerts at the Lower School launched a season of art across all three BB&N campuses. Both performances featured a range of instruments, soloists, and even languages as students shared what they’ve learned over the year through music.
The upper-grade concert once again featured student soloists performing during transitions, a concert staple introduced by new music teacher Brenda Chien last year. Students sang songs in French, Spanish, Mandarin, and more, as their peers accompanied on the piano, drums, guitar, recorder, and even buckets. To close the concert, all of the grades led the audience in a rousing rendition of their recently composed BB&N Lower School Song.
On Friday, the second and final concert of the series featured grades B-2 on stage, singing songs full of whimsy, heart, and good messages. The kindergarten classes even sang a song based on their ‘Fail-a-Bration.’ The performance was based on a book and their unit, but Sara Zur composed lyrics and a melody, and their teacher, Ben Goldhaber, even played the guitar with his students.
Students of all ages brought heart, dedication, and musical prowess to the stage, sending the audience into a busy May with style. Thanks to music teachers Brenda Chien, Sara Zur, and KariAnn Kulig for their tireless efforts to make these concerts so special.
