Lower School Renovation

Spaces That Inspire

At the heart of the Lower School renovation is ensuring every student has the learning environment they need to reach their full potential. A classroom is not just a space for students to have a desk and a chair—it is an integral part of the learning experience. Every design decision, from classroom size, to paint color, building materials, and access to windows and natural light has been made through the lens of pedagogy and biophilia, the innate human instinct to connect with nature and other living beings. The Lower School Renovation will include:

  • Adaptive Teaching Spaces: Offering flexible environments designed to support diverse teaching styles and varied learning modalities.
  • Outdoor Classrooms: Reimagining our grounds for project-based learning and age appropriate play spaces.
  • Integrating Interdisciplinary Spaces: Upgrading and relocating dedicated
STEM, Art, and Science spaces to inspire the next generation of creators and inventors.
  • Full-Service Dining: Establishing a professional kitchen and cafeteria capable of preparing and serving 600+ fresh meals daily.
  • Inclusive Design: Ensuring full accessibility throughout the historic Brick
    Building.
  • Community Gathering Spaces: Creating a venue for student performances,
    assemblies, and school-wide events.

Education has changed and we need to have a spacious & flexible campus that gives students the freedom to be bold, creative and collaborative.

As parents of three children who started in the Lower School, we are particularly excited about the Lower School Renovation project and how it transforms spaces for teaching and learning on that campus.”
