The BB&N rowing team is open to anyone who wants to learn to row. The nature of the sport is such that motivated, athletic individuals can make a difference on the team even in their first season of rowing.

Approximately forty girls row each spring on BBN’s JV and Varsity Girls Crew Team. The team rows and races fours out of the BB&N boathouse, which is directly across from the school on the Charles River. Most of the athletes arrive with no previous rowing experience and learn to row or cox here. Started in the early seventies, the girls’ program has a strong history and tradition. In 1998 and 1999, BBN won the junior fours National Championships. The four varsity boats are typically among the top boats in the ISL and produce strong results at the New England Championships. Recent graduates from the program are currently rowing at Princeton, Radcliffe, Cornell, Bates, Duke, Vassar, University of Pennsylvania, and the US Naval Academy.
