The BB&N Crew enjoys a rich history. The Crew started rowing on the Charles River in the 1890’s placing us among the oldest interscholastic high school crews in the country. The 1929 Crew was the first United States Schoolboy Crew ever to win at Henley Royal Regatta in England and the first U.S. crew to win the Thames Cup. In 1953, the school was one of the founding members of the NEIRA Regatta. In 1991, the Boys and Girls Crews were the first and only United States High School Crews ever to race in the Communist Soviet Union (USSR) in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). BB&N has won the 1st Boat NEIRA Championship several times as well as the Team Points Trophy and a National Championship in a 145 lb. 4+ event.

Approximately forty-five rowers compete as the Boys’ Crew at BB&N in Upper School and Middle School boats. Every Spring BB&N Varsity Crews race each week until the NEIRA Championships. Every October BB&N enters a Youth Four in the Head of the Charles Regatta.
