Paige McCormick

Athletic Associate & Varsity Coach

Paige McCormick is entering her first year as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at BB&N, where she also works full-time as an Athletics Associate. She joins BB&N after several years of collegiate coaching experience, most recently serving as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Division I Merrimack College. Prior to Merrimack, Coach McCormick served as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at St. Lawrence University, where she helped guide the program to its first Liberty League title since 2009-10 and an NCAA Tournament appearance, the program’s first since the 2016-17 season. During her time at both Merrimack and St. Lawrence, Paige was involved in player development, recruiting, scouting, and various aspects of team operations, including travel, male practice players, and managers. A former collegiate student-athlete herself, Paige brings both the player’s and coach’s perspective to her work. Her coaching philosophy is centered on relationships, accountability, and continuous growth. She believes basketball is an opportunity to develop not only skilled and competitive players, but also strong teammates, leaders, and people. Paige is passionate about creating an inclusive team environment where every athlete feels supported, challenged, valued, and empowered to be themselves. She emphasizes individual skill development and playing with purpose, while encouraging athletes to embrace challenges and learn from the game. Paige holds a master’s degree in Community Health Education and has additional graduate-level study in Leadership. At BB&N, she is excited to build on the tradition of Girls Basketball and create a program where athletes can grow, compete, connect, and develop a lifelong love of the game.

Ella Aurard-Bushee

Ella Aurard-Bushee joins the BB&N girls varsity basketball program this season as Assistant Coach. A former collegiate player, Coach Ella competed at Emerson College in the NEWMAC Conference, where she earned a B.S. in Communication Studies with minors in Leadership and Management and Public Relations. Before college, Coach Ella played at Vermont Academy in the NEPSAC, an experience that sparked a lasting appreciation for the league and the competitiveness and character it brings out in its players. As a coach, Coach Ella aims to help athletes become more confident, disciplined, and connected teammates while continuing to sharpen their skills and reach their full potential. Above all, she wants players to compete for one another, enjoy the game, and keep growing as both athletes and people. Off the court, Coach Ella serves as an Administrative Assistant in BB&N’s DEIG Office. Being on campus throughout the school day gives her the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with players well beyond practice and games.

The mission of the BB&N Girls Basketball Program is to create value for each individual player within a team concept while developing their knowledge of game strategies, fundamental skills, and competitive attitudes for success. We will strive to model excellence, energy, and the execution of fundamentally sound basketball with passion and enthusiasm.

Basketball is a small part of life but is also a way to learn about life. In basketball the players and coaches have a duty to the team, BB&N, and to one’s self. Players and coaches must perform their duty in all aspects of the game. A coach must first be responsible to the team and then the player. Because of our commitment to our program, we must remember that after each game and each season, only the team remains. Therefore, our only goal isn’t to win games but also to become people and a team of great character. The BB&N philosophy contains high expectations and standards for our team. These expectations will be a guide for our players’ and coaches’ conduct on and off the court. If we are to attain our goals of building a strong tradition of BB&N girls’ basketball, then all players and coaches must buy into this philosophy.

All players must understand their role as a member of our team. It is because of this, our veteran players have a critical role on the team. Their experience and knowledge must set a positive example for the younger players in games and practice. Veteran players must realize their conduct and attitude set an example, so they must be exemplary in the classroom and in the BB&N community. Veteran players must instill confidence in younger players to help the team excel at all levels of play. By believing in respecting your teammates and coaches, realizing your collective responsibility, and having pride in your team and school, the foundation for a successful program can be built.
