BB&N Alumnus and Former Ambassador to Denmark Visits Middle School Campus
Former U.S. Ambassador to Denmark and B&N alumnus Alan Leventhal ’70 visited Sparks Street to talk to current students about his work as an ambassador from 2022 to 2025. Leventhal is also a BB&N parent and grandparent; his son Stephen ’04 and grandchildren Miles ’36 and Olivia ’38 sat in on his presentation.
Leventhal spent the hour sharing what he did as an ambassador, including representing U.S. citizens, discussing climate change, supporting democracy, and advancing trade. The former representative worked closely with scientists studying climate change in Greenland, telling students that he once held an ice spike containing ice from 1776.
During the Q&A session, one student asked Leventhal about his memories from his time here. He stressed the importance of learning to write and of meeting the great teachers on campus. From Gerry’s Landing to Denmark, the skills and lessons he learned throughout his career started here.
Thank you to former Ambassador Leventhal for speaking to students about your illustrious career.
