Honoring Extraordinary Service

Each year, BB&N honors individuals for exceptional service to the school and the world through three awards. We invite you to nominate members within our community whose accomplishments are most deserving of special recognition.

Since 1993, Distinguished Alumni Award recipients have demonstrated outstanding leadership and community involvement at the local, national, or global level by enhancing the quality of our world and communities while embodying the core values of BB&N and its motto – Honor, Scholarship, Kindness. 

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor BB&N bestows upon a graduate of the institution. Award recipients are selected by the Alumni Awards Committee of BB&N’s Alumni Council in coordination with the Head of School. 

Each year the committee selects one Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. A Distinguished Young Alumni Award is also presented to a graduate of the last 20 years who demonstrates qualities and accomplishments similar to those of Distinguished Alumni Award recipients.

2026 Lewis Bryant
Award

First presented in 2022, the Lewis Bryant Award recognizes BB&N alumni who have demonstrated a deep and lasting commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.

The award celebrates the rich diversity of BB&N’s alumni community while honoring the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion pioneer Lewis Bryant, whose work over 37 years as teacher, coach, mentor, and Director of Multicultural Services was far-reaching, profound, and deeply meaningful to generations of students, faculty, staff, and administrators. 

This award honors Lewis for moving BB&N forward in its journey to embody its ideals, helping to ensure that all members of our community feel safe, included, and supported to bring their authentic selves to school every day; and to impress upon us that we are all collectively in a position to make a contribution toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Established in 2020, the BB&N Medal honors lifelong service and commitment to the institution. Honorees embrace and embody BB&N’s mission of being an academically excellent, diverse, and inclusive community where students develop into lifelong learners who lead with kindness, curiosity, and integrity and are prepared to be responsible and open-minded as they engage with the world around them.
