about

Professional Development

BB&N values being a community of adult learners and supporting professional growth.

Faculty and staff develop their talents, skills, and professional resources to support the BB&N student community.

Faculty and staff see challenges as opportunities, embrace their evolution as learners, and adapt to new ideas and practices. An inclusive, expansive, and strategic professional development program makes it possible.

Knight Corps

The Knight Corps is a cohort of Education Fellows interested in careers in education or other school-based roles. Education Fellows observe BB&N’s best teaching practices, learn from experienced faculty and administrators, and provide support throughout various areas of the school. Education Fellows engage in seminars and mentoring meetings throughout the year.

Leadership Institute

BB&N’s Leadership Institute equips faculty and staff with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively lead and develop others. Through in-house expertise, outside speakers, examination of leadership theory, practice-based learning, and direct coaching, participants develop a deeper understanding of supporting the growth and development of colleagues they support and lead.

PD on Campus

BB&N taps into the expertise within our own community. In addition to professional development days, faculty meetings, and on-campus workshops, the DEIG Office leads opportunities for faculty and staff, such as SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) and WAaAG (White Awareness and Accountability Group).

PD off Campus

Faculty and staff attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to explore innovative teaching practices, learn about cutting-edge research, and hone their practice to enhance teaching and learning at BB&N. Faculty and staff return to campus with a wide range of experiences, knowledge, and resources from the larger educational and professional community.
