The middle school program at BB&N is one that introduces students to the game of ice hockey. The focus is on skill development and learning the finer points of the game, while maintaining a laid-back approach to make the experience fun for all. The team skates three to five times a week, depending on the schedule. Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, the team participates in skill sessions that focus on skating, passing, and shooting. The main goal of the practice sessions is to fine-tune the basic skills needed to play a game. The girls play games on Wednesdays and Fridays against other private schools in the area. The coaches work hard with the student-athletes to ensure that the basic skills are taught so that the players can enjoy a successful high school career.
