2023 Pitch Competition Finalists

Henry Ritter 14 | Sycamore

We won the 2023 BB&N Pitch Competition to develop Sycamore, an app to help you better understand, manage, and practice well-being. The competition was a fantastic experience — we honed our story, fielded thoughtful questions from the panel of judges, and received the initial funding to get the venture off the ground. Other BB&N alums would be wise to take the opportunity to pitch their own ventures to the community.

Dreme Flint ’11 | The Chair

With the winnings from the competition I was able to complete my workable prototype. The Chair is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hair boards, connect to stylists, and share haircare tips for a more joyous and streamlined experience.

Lizzy Kidder ’06 | LadderHealth

Ladder Health (www.LadderHealth.co) is a virtual care platform for children (0-6y) with developmental delays, built alongside clinicians at Boston Children’s Hospital. Ladder offers immediate access to top specialists in early childhood development, including pediatric physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. Ladder launched services in Massachusetts in the spring of 2024 and expanded to North Carolina later that year. The pitch competition was a wonderful opportunity to improve my storytelling around the business opportunity for Ladder Health. It helped prepare me to take questions from investors and more succinctly communicate Ladder’s value proposition.
