Bollywood Dance and Movement: East meets West for a fun, energetic dance and movement class! Dance class that Introduces children to the fun world of Bollywood dance. Children get physical activity while learning dance steps to new and old songs from Bollywood movies. Learning dance helps them get regular exercise, lets them be creative and exposes them to a little taste of India in a fun way! We choreograph a dance and keep adding on and practicing each week in class.

Irish Dance and Movement: Rebecca McGowan will bring her creative movement, dance, and games to BB&N to work with our younger students. Get your feet moving with quick footwork danced to lively jigs and reels! Irish dancing is energetic, graceful, precise, and fun. Learn basic solo steps and dance with friends in group ceili ('kay-lee') dances. This unique program focuses on non-competitive Irish dance. We'll play lots of dance games, build technique, and have fun exploring Irish music and dance! Live Irish music at class once a month.

Rebecca McGowan is a dancer and teacher from the Boston area where she began Irish dancing as a child with Clare Sullivan. As an adult she developed a love of the musicality of older style steps and sean-nós dance while studying with Kieran Jordan. Rebecca danced in Washington, DC with the Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance and performed as part of the New Century American Irish-Arts Company. She has performed at the Kennedy Center, in WGBH’s “A Christmas Celtic Sojourn,” in “Celebrate!” at the JFK Library and Museum, and at numerous festivals in the Boston and Washington areas. She has taught sean-nós dance for children for Shannon Dunne Dance, and teaches step dancing classes in afterschool programs and for adults.No experience necessary. Get ready to dance and have fun!
