ALL AFTER CARE INFO
You never need to worry about getting your child into After Care. Your child will always have a spot in After Care should they want. We will continue to provide the same great coverage from dismissal to 5:30 PM each day. We will not run out of space in After Care... EVER!
Our regular After Care program offers children in Beginners through Grade 6 a balance of organized and free-play activities that provide a pleasant, comfortable, and less structured afternoon experience. Activities include free play, games, art, stories, computer time, and a quiet place for homework with After Care students grouped according to grade level. After Care is available for all Lower School students, Beginners through Grade 6 from 3:00-5:30 PM (2:00-5:30 PM on Wednesdays) during the school year. After Care is only available when school is in session for a full day. After Care is NOT available on half days of school.
After Care is offered on a per semester basis although a daily rate can be purchased. Each semester coincides with the half way point of the BB&N academic calendar.
Grades B, K, and 1
Upon school dismissal in the Morse Building, students in Beginners, Kindergarten and Grade 1 will be guided by their teacher to the field. These students will be gathered together and an initial attendance taken. Children will be provided a snack and time to transition from the school day to the after care day. The day will progress informally with game play, crafts, activities, and outside time in the form of supervised free play. Children should be picked up by parents/guardians on the field (Morse Building lobby in inclement weather) no later than 5:30 PM each night.
Grades: 2-6
Upon school dismissal in the New Wing and Brick Building students will walk independently to the field.
Daily Rate and Late Pick-Up
The After Care program will provide supervision to students whose parents require a late pick-up. This can be arranged at a semester rate (details on the Rate page) or a daily rate. Drop off in After Care must be preceded by the appropriate registration. In addition, a child that is not picked up at dismissal time in a timely manner (within 15 minutes of dismissal time) will be charged the Daily Rate for After Care regardless of the amount of time that child spends in After Care.
Mud Weeks
Mud weeks mark the end of the semester for ASAP classes. There are no ASAP classes offered during Mud weeks, but we always have After Care available and families may purchase After Care dailies during these weeks if they need child care coverage.
Mud Week is the week marking the end of each semester. Winter Mud Week is the same week that MLK falls on in January while Spring Mud Week is the same week that Memorial Day falls on in May.
Please note that After School Mud weeks differ from Athletics Mud weeks.
* There is no special programming during Mud Weeks.
