Music filled the Upper School halls last week as students put their talents on full display through a series of shows.
The Upper School Orchestra plumbed the depths of international waters with their outstanding performance of "Shri Raga." Described as "an ancient raga with a peculiar and challenging pitch structure," the adaptation of Indian Hindustani pitch concepts into an ensemble, orchestral arrangement began the show with a bang. The concert closed with a stirring rendition of Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony."
Not to be outdone by their classical counterparts, Upper School jazz students painted the campus all shades of groovy with their own musical milieu. Four separate ensembles tackled a variety of material including compositions by Charles Mingus, Sun Ra, Kurt Weil, and many more!
