Upper School Knighting Ceremony Boosts Community Spirit

Although BB&N's ninth graders entered last Friday's weekly X-block assembly as mere freshmen, they left as royalty. In what has become a BB&N tradition, student council co-presidents Alexandra Roloff '19 and Aurash Vatan '19 welcomed freshmen to the community in a "knighting" ceremony to the approving roars of Upper School students who cheered the entire 20-minute undertaking.

The ceremony, which involves parading through a welcome tunnel of seniors and then being symbolically "knighted," serves as a bonding opportunity for the new Upper School students.

In addition to welcoming freshmen to the ranks, the assembly also served as a pep rally for Homecoming weekend and a chance to boost school spirit.
