Head of the Charles at BB&N

Featuring big crowds throughout the weekend, BB&N celebrated the Head of the Charles weekend in grand style this year. With impressive performances on the river for Sunday’s race, a lovely alumni/ae gathering on Saturday evening, and beautiful weather for both days, everyone in attendance enjoyed the event.

Saturday evening’s alumni/ae event followed a BB&N reunion performance by an alumni/ae women’s eight crew on the river; a fun appetizer for the main event the next day.

“On Sunday, the kids raced throughout the morning in ideal conditions,” says rowing coordinator Stephanie Guilmet. “The boys’ and girls’ crews had great rows down the course against tough competition from both schools and club teams from all over the country. There was great fan support from the entire BB&N community, cheering the boats on as the passed and welcoming them back to the boathouse at the conclusion of the races!”

Girls Youth Four finished 52nd out of 84 boats, but as the 15th fastest scholastic team, (all other teams were club teams).

Boys Youth Four finished 35th out of 48 boats, but as the 10th fastest scholastic team, (all other teams were club teams).
