The BB&N community came together this week to show their support and fundraise for Puerto Rico after the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria last month. All three campuses participated in the efforts, which included a raffle for students and faculty and bracelet making for a sale next week at the Middle School. Students also came up with their own opportunities to contribute, selling empanadas and organizing a Spike Ball tournament.
The Upper School assembly on October 10 also focused on Puerto Rico in the framework of Hispanic Heritage Month and featured guest speakers Dr. Jeannette Perez-Rosello P’20, ’21, Middle School World Languages Department Head Lourdes Fernandez, and Lower School Spanish Teacher Omar Machado who spoke to the community about their personal connections to Puerto Rico.
BB&N has raised over $3,010 for Puerto Rico so far.
