Our Campus

Opportunities for exploration abound at the Upper School—from journeying into intellectual outer limits to testing the waters of team sports to leaping into the dramatic unknown of the stage. Students at BB&N’s Upper School can be who they are, and become who they were meant to be.

Buildings

Main Academic Building
Located across from the Charles River, BB&N’s Main Academic Building features numerous classrooms, a state of the art theater/auditorium, a renovated common space, and the Director’s office.

Renaissance Halle
The newest addition to the Upper School is Renaissance Hall, a completely modern wing which curves around an open air courtyard at the heart of the campus. Renaissance Hall features acoustically engineered music rehearsal spaces, modern studio art spaces, an internet café off of a cafeteria, and numerous classrooms.

Nicholas Athletic Center
With its striking clock tower over the entrance, the Nicholas Athletic Center is BB&N’s state of the art sports facility. This building holds a double sized gymnasium, four tennis courts, a wrestling room, an ice hockey rink, a training room and weight room, along with coaches’ offices. It also overlooks the baseball, football, lacrosse, and soccer fields—one of which features cutting edge Field Turf, an artificial grass used by dozens of professional sports teams.

Forbes House sits nestled into the Cambridge hills at the edge of the Upper School campus, and hosts the Upper School Admission offices and staff.

Wood Studio
The oldest building on campus is the Wood Studio, a historic structure that has survived three moves dating back to its birth at the Browne and Nichols School. Positioned off of the central courtyard, it is a treasure trove of wooden craftsmanship.

BB&N Boat House
Just across the street from the Main Building sits the BB&N Boat House. This historic building on the banks of the Charles River holds the crew shells for the School, and plays host to the annual Head of Charles Regatta celebration every year.
