The financial model for a quality independent school is somewhat unusual because the actual cost to educate each student is significantly higher than the price in tuition he or she pays. This is true not just at BB&N, but at virtually every other leading independent school in the country. Raising tuition to meet that full cost is not an option because it would make BB&N unaffordable for all but the very wealthiest families.
