Our staff is already getting ready for this coming summer camp season! We are excited to welcome back some of our most loved senior counselors for next year!!


 

Carrie Thibodeau:  Ms. Thibodeau will be back for her fourth summer

at BB&N Day Camp, where she worked as a second grade head counselor for two years and the nature counselor last summer. Carrie is entering her fourth year as a School Counselor at Lexington High School, and she also coaches the Freshman Girls’ Soccer team.  Beforeworking at Lexington High School, Carrie was a literacy teacher for immigrant adults in Dorchester, MA. 


Katy Biagini Scarpulla: Ms. Biagini is now Mrs. Scarpulla! Mrs. Scarpulla katy scar

will be back for her eighth summer at BB&N Day Camp, where she will return in her role as head nature counselor. Katy is currently teaching fourth grade and has been teaching for eight years. She also graduated from Syracuse University in 2002, and enjoys traveling in her spare time. 

 

Matt O’Laughlin: Mr. O’Laughlin will be back for his 11th summer at BB&N Matt O'L

Day Camp, where he will be head counselor of the 6B group. Matt has experience with all age groups, as he has been a head counselor for the lower camp as well as grades 3 and 6. He is entering his sixth year at Dearborn Academy as a Behavioral Counselor for Behavior and Special Needs Students. He enjoys playing sports and long walks on the beach in his spare time.

 

Kathy Newell: “I work full-time at BB&N as the assistant athletic director.  kathy newell

 The majority of my time is spent coaching, all ages, in field hockey, ice hockey and softball.  I've worked 20+ years at the day camp b/c I enjoy working with the younger ages in a more casual atmosphere- and of course being outside every day playing games is a great job!”

 

Dave Fallon: Mr. Fallon will be back for his 11th summer at BB&N Day  dave fallon

Camp, where he will be the head counselor for 5B. Dave also has experience with many different ages, as he has been a head counselor for grades 3, 4, and 5. Dave is entering his ninth year teaching high school social studies at Millis High School.  Dave enjoys playing and coaching basketball in his spare time. He is also an avid Scrabble player.

 

Sue Duffy: Ms. Duffy will be back for her 30th summer at BB&N Summer  sue duffy

Day Camp, where she will be the head counselor for Arts & Crafts. She has been a part of the camp since she was 5 years old. Sue has been a teacher for the past 22 years in several private elementary schools teaching math and science before her big change this year to Woburn High School.

 

Ryan McCarthy:  Ryan has worked at BB&N summer camp for ten years

now.  During the school year Ryan teaches 7th grade social studies at ryan mccarthy

the McGlynn middle School in Medford, .  Next year he will begin his

 seventh year at the McGlynn where he  also coordinates the National Junior Honor Society.  Ryan has been involved in Medord lacrosse as a varsity coach at the high school and has also worked with the middle school kids every year during the winter.  Ryan considers himself lucky to be able to work with the youth of America every day and as eagerly looking forwad to another summer at BB&N! 

  

 

In addition, to our Head Counselors, we have a fabulous Nursing Staff working with us this year

Our counselor staff is comprised of educators, specialists, and skilled caretakers as well as mature college and high school students. Counselors are hired to work the entire season, and their minimum age is sixteen.


The primary goal of every counselor is to care for, as well as nurture, the physical, creative and emotional well-being of our campers.
