Under the leadership of Senior Parents Chris and Dick Wood P'07,'08,'12, Marie and Mark Schwartz P'08,'11, and the assistance of a committee of dedicated Senior parent volunteer solicitors, 99 percent of Class of 2008 parents contributed nearly $1 million to BB&N through their Senior Parents' Gift Program.
At the Senior Project Dinner in May, the committee chairs presented Head of School Rebecca T. Upham with a check for $826,712 representing monies raised to date. By time the books had closed, however, the total had climbed to $930,593, including $543,972 to establish the Class of 2008 Faculty Endowment Fund, $220,550 for other endowment and capital projects, and $166,071 for the Annual Fund. BB&N is extremely grateful for this strong expression of gratitude from parents of graduating seniors for the educational experience their children have received.
Members of the Class of 2008 also participated in a fund-raising effort to give back to BB&N through the Senior Class Gift program. Chaired by seniors Carly Schuster '08 and Eric Schwartz '08, the Senior Class Gift Committee received contributions from 100 percent of their classmates totaling $4,264, which was matched from the funds contributed by their parents. The Senior Class Gift will be designated for financial aid as part of the 2008 Annual Fund to help enable other students to benefit from a BB&N education.
