Letter from the Opening Minds Campaign Chair

Description

As we enter the fourth year of the public phase of the Campaign this fall, it is truly remarkable to note how far the School has come in advancing our ambitious but critical goals: to increase our endowment for faculty, financial aid, and general operations, to fund our new Upper School building and renovation project, and to support our Annual Fund.

Thanks to the generosity of many members of the BB&N community since the start of our Campaign, I am pleased to report progress on several key Campaign initiatives over the past year, including:

- opening of the new and renovated Upper School campus in September 2007, on time and on budget;

- increasing our faculty compensation pool by 7%;

- increasing our financial aid budget by more than $400,000;

- establishing eight new endowed and spendable funds to support BB&N’s faculty compensation, professional development, financial aid, and academic program initiatives.

As we move into the final two years of the Opening Minds Campaign, we thank those of you who have already participated and look forward to reaching out to more members of our community in the months ahead. We recognize that in this uncertain economic climate we are all faced with difficult financial choices, but we hope that BB&N and our Campaign will remain a top priority.
