About the Middle SchoolThe Middle School, grades 7 & 8, helps students flourish as they move through some of the most intense changes of their lives. A challenging curriculum and a variety of co-curricular offerings encourage students to venture outside their comfort zone in an environment where they feel safe to try something new or different. Students leave the Middle School with new knowledge of themselves and the world around them— poised, confident, and eager for a challenge.
Demetra, Grade 7"I wanted to be a pioneer,” says Demetra about choosing wrestling as her winter sport. “I don’t feel uncomfortable about it. I talked about it with the boys, and now they’re comfortable with it, too... so it’s all good" More
Shay, Grade 8With the support of his art teachers, Shay planned and conducted a popular skateboard deck design class for fellow students. More

Drop your students off for an evening of fun, music, dancing, snacks and hanging out. This is a student only event. The MS sponsors two "Mixes" each year - one in the fall, one in the winter. The Mixes are chaperoned by faculty and parent volunteers. The doors are open from 7-7:30pm. Admission is $5. Any late arrivals need to be pre-approved by the Grade Dean; students are required to stay for the entire Mix. All students must be picked up by a parent. Any student walking home must have advanced approval. Students may invite up to 2 guests who must be registered in advance by signing up in the Front Office by Friday at dismissal. All BB&N students are responsible for their guests and must familiarize them with the rules and expectations. Pick up is promptly at 9:30pm.

Middle School AdmissionThere is no single BB&N "type," and we think that's one of our strengths. Students come here with a wide range of talents and interests, from neighborhoods throughout the Greater Boston area, and from a diverse range of racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. What they have in common is a genuine curiosity about the world around them and an eagerness to learn.
