Regular After Care Program:

The first day of After Care for the Fall 2011/2012 School Year will be as follows:

Grades K-6th: Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 at 2:00pm

Beginners: Monday, September 12th, 2011 at 3:00pm

We are very excited to welcome back our fabuous After Care Team for the 2010-2011 school year! Janine Cozier will continue as Lead Teacher of After Care supported by Marianna Buonopane, Kathy Ahern-Treco, and Donna Paladino!!

Our regular After Care program offers children in Beginners through Grade 6 a balance of

organized and free-play activities that provide a pleasant, comfortable, and less structured afternoon experience. Activities include free play, games, art, stories,

computer time, and a quiet place for homework with After Care students grouped according to grade level and is available for all Lower School students, Beginners through Grade 6 from 3:00-5:30 PM (2:00-5:30 PM on Wednesdays) during the school year. After Care is only available when school is in session for a full day. After Care is NOT available on half days of school.

* Please Note: There is no After Care provided for Beginners with a half day schedule during the first week of school in September. As such, the first day Beginners can participate in After Care is Monday, September 12th, 2011 at 3:00

Beginners, Kindergarten, and Grade 1: Upon school dismissal in the Morse Building, students in Beginners, Kindergarten and Grade 1 will be escorted to the Bridgeman House.  The Bridgeman House will now be the home of After Care for these younger students enabling them to enjoy their very own space designed just or them.  Children will be provided a snack and roster will be taken. The day will progress with game play, crafts, activities, and outside time.  Children in this group should be picked up by parents/guardians in the Bridgeman House no later than 5:30 each night.  Access to the Bridgeman House after 5:00pm will be from around the Morse Building via the outdoor side gate to the left of the Morse Building.

Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6: Upon school dismissal in the Brick Building, the older students registered for After Care, (in grades 2 through grade 6), will be permitted to walk unescorted to the Brick Building Community Room (BBC).  The BBC will be the home of After Care for all of our older students where they will be able to take advantage of the

AS Group

large play area of the Community Room but also have access to the library and the Mac Computer Lab. All rooms will be monitored and use of any/all rooms will be dependent upon student need and proper supervision.  After roster is taken, students will enjoy a snack and then be able to choose from an assortment of games, crafts, quiet library time, homework, and possible computer time.  At the end of the first hour, these older children will merge with the younger After Care children by meeting on the playgrounds for outside play time.  If a child prefers, he or she may stay outside to play or go inside the Bridgeman House to continue homework or play board games.  At this time, if parents choose to pick up their children they may do so by checking in with the teachers at the Bridgeman House and gathering their child's belongings.
