Lower School

Kathryn Provonsil

Sixth Grade Goes to Camp Hulbert: Weeks before our departure, Hulbert was at the center of every class meeting. Students looked with anticipation to this new experience. The Hulbert Outdoor Center offers many opportunities to challenge oneself, both physically and mentally. Their program lists hiking, team building games and activities, but the one thing that loomed high for every sixth grader was the high ropes course. As departure day neared, excitement was clearly building. A new experience, unshared by any previous siblings, was about to unfold. BB&N’s class of 2014 were about to become groundbreakers. More

Middle School

As a reporter, it is the scene you hope for: dozens of students standing in hallways, leaning on lockers, crowded on couches, noses deep in the newspaper, absorbed in the article you’ve spent weeks preparing. You spend the day eavesdropping on people talking about it, accepting praise on your work, and answering the questions it has raised. On November 16th, Middle School students had that experience for the first time. More

The frequent newspaper articles, multiple morning news show stories, and nervous seniors that roam the halls of American high schools serve as yearly reminders of the arrival of the college season. “It’s the most competitive year ever!” can be heard ringing from the mountaintops and frantic parents can be found roaming the soccer sidelines seeking the wisdom of those who have gone before. We have moved from discussing diversity at BB&N to understanding that diversity is BB&N. What I am most proud of after spending 24 years here is the integrated approach BB&N has taken in its effort to become a truly diverse, inclusive, and multicultural school and community. More
