All-Star Debaters Tackle Healthcare Issue

Tensions were high in the US Theater as two teams of sophomore “all-star” debaters prepared to face off in this year’s Spring Debate. Picking a topic straight from the headlines, the students argued opposing sides of a resolution that the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act should be declared unconstitutional.

“Which sentence is more interesting to you?” asked young-adult novelist Mark Peter Hughes to a captive audience of more than 50 Middle Schoolers during his recent visit to BB&N.

 “Justin jumped off a cliff.” Or, “Justin Bieber jumped off a cliff.”

 The laughter that rocked the room clearly proclaimed the latter.

BB&N Math Team Finishes Second in State Meet

The BB&N math team continued its trend of excellence recently when it finished second among small schools at the State Math Meet on Monday, April 2nd. Competing with over 450 students from area schools in grades 10 through 12, BB&N “mathletes” calculated and quantified their way to the finals with skill and poise.
