Reporting to: Assistant Head for Operations/CFO

 

FLSA Status: Exempt 

 

Job Summary:

The Safety and Security Coordinator (OSC) position’s primary function is to assess the safety of the school campuses, perform safety audits, perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and be responsible for general operations during his/her shift. The OSC’s safety responsibilities will include developing and conducting a training program for the buildings and grounds staff. Additional responsibilities include conducting inspections and providing written reports regarding campus safety, implementation of recommended safety improvements, and ensuring the school is compliant with all regulatory requirements. The OSC will be responsible for conducting building inspections and performing preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems.  Additionally, the OSC will be responsible for operations of the buildings, equipment and systems during his/her shift.  This includes starting and stopping of equipment when needed and for special event requirements.  The OSC will also be responsible for ensuring that energy conservation practices are followed, including lights-out and appropriate temperature levels when buildings are not in use.

 

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5-10 years of facilities operation experience, and experience in managing a safety program.  The OSC must also have a working knowledge of mechanical systems. 

 

Other requirements include:

 · Technical degree or equivalent experience;

 · Safety Program experience;

 · Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;

 · Ability to work evening shifts;

· Candidate must have a valid drivers license.
