Alumni/ae Challenge Nears Completion

Thanks to the generosity of 28 alumni/ae in classes ranging from 1935 to 1998, the $1 million anonymous Alumni/ae Challenge has nearly been met.

This two-year Challenge, announced in November 2005, is from a BB&N graduate who pledged $1 million to match all new commitments of $25,000 or more from alumni/ae who had never given at that level, or the amount of increase over a donor's previous gift at that level. With the November 2007 deadline approaching, BB&N has received $850,000 in qualifying gifts and pledges.

The Challenge clearly has given donors an exciting sense of leverage and urgency that has inspired larger gifts. It has also fostered a sense of community and shared responsibility among alumni/ae for their School, whether they graduated from Buckingham (5 donors), Browne & Nichols (8 donors), or BB&N (15 donors).
