Directions to BB&N Fields & Facilities

Nicholas Athletic Center

NOTE: The NAC is home facility for basketball, hockey, volleyball, wrestling, and tennis programs

Storrow Drive, Memorial Drive, Greenough Blvd., and Fresh Pond Parkway all lead to the Nicholas Athletic Center at the Upper School.

If you are coming from outside the Boston Metropolitan Area:
Take I-90 (Mass. Pike) to the Watertown Exit, #17. Follow Galen St. north towards Watertown Square. Cross over the river and continue through the square onto Mt. Auburn St. Continue approximately 2-1/2 miles on Mt. Auburn, then bear right onto Gerry's Landing Rd. Follow Gerry's Landing as it curves around to the right; the Upper School campus is on the right-hand side of the street. NOTE: Parking at the Nicholas Athletic Center is extremely limited. If you continue along Gerry's Landing to the other end of campus, you will find a somewhat larger parking lot. If that lot is filled, we do notrecommend on-street parking in the vicinity of the Upper School campus. The option we recommend is to park in the large public lot across the river on Soldiers Field Road (third lot on your right, roughly across the street from WBZ). On gamedays, a BB&N shuttle will operate on a continuous loop between that lot and the Upper School campus.

Buckingham Field

Buckingham field is located on Fresh Pond Parkway just opposite the New Cambridge Water Works Building between Huron Ave. and the Concord Ave. rotary.

From Route 2
At the end of the highway portion of Route 2 E you will come to the Alewife T Stop. Continue on Rte. 2 past two lights, up over the bridge to the rotary at the Ground Round. Continue around the rotary to 9-oclock, following most of the traffic. At the next rotary, approximately 200 yards, stay to the right and once out of the rotary immediately move into the left lane. The field is on the left just past the next traffic light which is in front of the auto dealership and often blinking.

Continue past the school with the Nicholas Athletic Center on your left. After going through the light immediately in front of the school you will come up to a fork in the road with traffic lights at Mt. Auburn St. Stay to the right and continue up the hill through two more lights; Brattle St. and Huron Ave. You need to stay in the right lane all along this stretch. Once past Huron Ave. continue down the hill and just after it turns to the right you will come across the field on your right. Parking directions above.

Parking
There is a parking lot at the field but be very careful taking that left into the lot. If you happen to miss the lot continue to the next light and take Huron Ave. and take a left. You can't take this left between 4 and 7 PM. Once you are on Huron Ave. take your first left on to Larch Road and park on the street.

Other Information
The only toilets at the field are Port-o-Jons and there is also no pay phone. Some junior varsity field hockey games are not played on at Buckingham field, be sure to check with the coach or the athletics events line (617-800-2259) before traveling.
