Applying to the Middle School 7-8

We encourage applications to the Middle School (Grades 7 and 8) from bright students living throughout the Greater Boston area who are eager for a challenging and rewarding educational experience. You can download an application by clicking on the appropriate link in the sidebar, or call the Admissions Office to receive one in the mail. The written application includes information from parents, a student questionnaire, grade-appropriate school and teacher reports from the student's current school, and personal recommendations. An interview is a required part of the admission process. An interview and tour can be arranged by calling the Middle School Admission Office at 617-800-2336. Admissions decisions are based on a student’s merit as determined by previous school achievement and scores on standardized tests, and on other factors that allow us to assess his or her chances for success at BB&N and fit within the BB&N community. Applicants must submit scores for either the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) by mid-January. Once accepted, your child will not need to reapply to BB&N's Upper School. Deadline: The completed application form is due by January 15. See other key dates in the sidebar at right.
