Special Programs - Exchange and Travel

Each year, the Upper School sponsors foreign travel opportunities as a way for students to participate in foreign cultures, practice foreign languages, appreciate world history, and expand their horizons. The trips vary in length and kind—some include home stays with families, others emphasize touring and hotel stays; while the trips to France and Russia are part of established school exchange programs.

The School provides a modest financial aid budget to support foreign travel. Students should pick up the financial aid forms from the faculty trip organizers.

Travel programs available in 2007-2008.

RUSSIA - On this program, BB&N students host the Russian students from our sister school for two weeks in April and travel to Russia in June.

ITALY - This Roman Italy tour will visit ancient Roman, Medieval, and Renaissance sites including three days in Sorrento on the Bay of Naples from which we will visit the isle of Capri and the city destroyed by Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii. 

MOROCCO - The tour will include cities (Fez, Marrakech or Casablanca), the visit of a mosque and ancient tombs, local shopping in open markets, an excursion to the Sahara desert, a camel ride... and lots of sun and fun!

CHINA - Highlights will include the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Ming Tombs, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Rickshaw ride to Hutong, Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses, Xian Ancient City Wall, and a visit to Laoshe Teahouse.
