Leadership Opportunities

In all of our experiences, both those within the school and those which use our urban location, we encourage self-reliance, knowledge of oneself and a capacity for leadership.

Opportunities for leadership exist at every turn and for every palate. Students find their greatest fans in each other and forge friendships that remain strong throughout their adult lives. A dynamic community of learners, people who speak their minds and from their hearts, the BB&N Upper School is where dedication and innovation meet in an unparalleled synergy. BB&N provides several opportunities to explore and build their leadership skills. One of these is through student government.

In the regular operations of student government, students meet in grade councils to oversee each class, and representatives from all classes meet weekly in the Student Council. With two faculty members and the Dean of Students, they discuss issues of concern to the Upper School and make recommendations to the Director. Students do not determine School policy, but their opinions and proposals on student life issues are taken seriously. Their suggestions are put forward at a student summit in which student leaders review their proposals with administrators every month.
