Library
One of the skills that Middle School students learn to develop is the management of their time. They have new demands on them as their responsibilities to their schoolwork, extra-curricular work and to their friends become more complicated. The Middle School Library's resources help the students question and understand the sometimes overwhelming amount of information available to them as they do their research. Students are welcome in the library either with their class or on their own to work with the librarian and learn how information is organized and how to evaluate that information.
The Library serves the two grades by reinforcing the curriculum and by maintaining a large fiction collection. The non-fiction collection and bibliographic instruction offered by the librarian support the curriculum in such a way that students need not travel to other libraries in order to complete their assignments. The extensive reference collection and access to online sources through the Metrowest Library Consortium provide comprehensive information in the library as well online at home.
