Daily Life - Clubs and Activities

Affinity Lunch
As part of the School’s commitment to diversity, the Lower School offers an opportunity for students of color to gather once a week for lunch. The lunches are voluntary; each family of color decides whether their child will participate. Once a month participants invite a classmate to Affinity Lunch. Several members of the BB&N faculty and staff host the lunches.

Asian Cultural Society
ACS is an organization comprised of students, parents and teachers. Each year, they organize a dinner event with music and dance. Everyone in the BB&N community is welcome!

Community Council
This group is comprised of Fifth and Sixth Graders. The Council has two functions: to provide student opinion on an open range of issues and to support a community service project with funds raised at the Book Bonanza, a used book sale sponsored by the Fifth grade.

One World Club
A club for Sixth graders which supports community service projects such as collecting for UNICEF, planning a Thanksgiving assembly, and raising money for children in foreign countries.

Orchestra
Grades 4, 5, and 6 students who play an orchestral instrument are encouraged to join the Lower School Orchestra. Third graders may join by invitation. The group typically performs at concerts, assemblies, and the Grade 5 & 6 Closing Ceremony.
