Clara Wainwright Joins Lower School as Visiting Artist

Boston area artist Clara Wainwright joined the Lower School community in February as the most recent member of BB&N's Visiting Artist Program. Wainwright's work was on display at the DeCordova Museum in 2002 in an exhibition titled, Clara Wainwright: Quiltmaker and Celebration Artist which included over 40 fabric collages and quilts, artist books, installations with painted and decorated furniture, documentary information about Wainwright's leadership role in Boston celebrations such as First Night and The Great Boston Kite Festival, as well as a selection of collaborative community quilts. Recently Wainwright worked with Lower School students to make Mandalas—collages of geometric designs (usually circular) that symbolize the universe. She will be teaching on the campus for several weeks working with students from all Lower School classes.
